Plot Summary:
The film tells the story of Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), a successful banker from Portland, Maine. In 1947, he is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and her lover, and sentenced to life imprisonment at the harsh and notorious Shawshank State Penitentiary in Maine.
